Lauren is based in northern Virginia and is happy to speak to your women’s gathering, youth meeting, or book group. Contact her to discuss your event and your needs.
The Vine, the Branches, and the Fruit: Lauren will guide your attendees to stay true to their calling and stay aligned with God, based on the verse, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Lauren will discuss the three parts — vine (God), branches (us), and fruit (results). She will guide your audience through the example of Joseph, who his father described as a “fruitful vine” (Gen. 49:22).
How to Have a Quiet Time: You’ve no doubt heard about this daily time set aside for spending time with the Lord, but many of us don’t know where to start. It’s natural to ask, Where will I find the time? And what should a quiet time involve? Lauren discusses real-life ideas for a quiet time and the deep biblical basis for having one. Your attendees will leave with practical ideas for how to spend time with God daily — for rest, renewal, and breathing new purpose into their spiritual walk.
Personal Testimony: In this workshop, Lauren will explain how a personal testimony is an indispensable tool for evangelism or planting seeds of faith; the three parts of a testimony (before Christ, decision to follow Christ, life now); and examples of different types (childhood believer vs. adult decision, dramatic epiphany vs. gradual decision, and so on).
Balancing Purpose With Rest: Today, Christians are given messages that seem to conflict. Some say we’ve gotten way too busy and encourage a simpler schedule, making plenty of time for rest and refreshment. These people tell us not to be afraid to say “No.” Then, we seem to get messages from the opposite end, telling us to serve with compassion as Jesus did, share the gospel with the lost, and make our life count. The truth is, rest and purpose work hand-in-hand. They’re partners in realizing God’s plan for abundant life (John 10:10).
